According to the statistical agency, the most expensive rental prices are in the Transcarpathian region, although rental costs have decreased by 7.1% since the beginning of the year, now standing at 11,823 hryvnias.
Lviv region holds the second position, with prices dropping by 9.6% to 10,659 hryvnias.
Rivne region is in third place, where rental prices have increased by 37.4% to 9,891 hryvnias since the start of the year.
In Kyiv, rental prices have risen by 9.8% to 9,580 hryvnias since the beginning of the year, keeping the capital in fourth place for rental costs.
Rental prices are increasing in the western and some central regions of Ukraine. The lowest prices are found in the Kherson (2,928 hryvnias), Mykolaiv (3,627 hryvnias), and Sumy (3,700 hryvnias) regions.
Housing Prices
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, in 2022, the rent for a one-room apartment increased by 32.7% to 5,699 hryvnias.
In 2023, the average monthly rental price for a one-room apartment in Ukraine rose by 15.9% to 6,605 hryvnias. The Transcarpathian region took the lead, with rents up by 46.2%. At the beginning of 2024, Lviv region again took the top spot but later fell back to second place.
Market Situation
Previously, the NBU stated that housing rental prices are expected to rise in 2024. Rental rates are being increased, including for leased properties. The price-to-rent ratio fluctuates around the long-term average, indicating a stabilization of the secondary market segment in Kyiv. Currently, the average cost of an apartment in the capital is equivalent to ten years of its rental price.
