Де українці зберігають понад трильйон гривень: огляд банків на початок 2025 року.

Станом на 1 січня 2025 року в Україні функціонувало 61 банк, де фізичні особи зберігали 1 трлн 216,5 млрд гривень. Протягом року ця сума зросла на 160 млрд гривень, що становить 13% у умовах інфляції на рівні 12%.

According to the NBU, the largest amounts of funds held by the population are in the state-owned PrivatBank - 438.0 billion UAH and Oschadbank - 210.2 billion UAH.

In third place is the private Universal Bank - 81.7 billion UAH.

Following are the foreign banking group Raiffeisen Bank - 70.7 billion UAH, the private PUMB - 54.9 billion UAH, and the foreign banking group UkrSibbank - 48.1 billion UAH.

Banking Sector

As of the beginning of January 2025, there were 61 banks operating in Ukraine. Over the year, the number decreased by one bank. The "Alpari" bank voluntarily surrendered its license. In December, the first bank of the year, "Kominvestbank", went bankrupt in Ukraine. The bank's market share accounted for 0.04% of all assets of solvent banks.

There are a total of seven state banks. The share of net assets of state banks in 2024 decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 53.3%. The share of household funds in state banks fell by 1.2 percentage points over the year to 63.3%.

In December, the National Bank of Ukraine decided to raise the discount rate by 0.5 percentage points to 13.5% per annum, and in January 2025 - to 14.5%. The NBU expects that this could lead to an increase in banks' deposit rates.

As of January 1, 2025, there were 5,011 active structural units of banks in Ukraine. Over the year, their number decreased by 127. The largest number of branches is in the state-owned Oschadbank - 1,150. The state-owned PrivatBank ranks second with 1,107 branches.
