This is reported by The New York Post, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
The publication notes that Vens and his family were met by hundreds of angry protesters who gathered on the snowy streets ahead of the vice president's arrival at the Sugarbush resort in Westfield.
The demonstrators held signs labeling Vens as a "national disgrace," accusing him of "betrayal," and urging him to take his family "skiing in Russia."
Due to the intense protests, the vice president's family decided to cut their four-day trip short and forgo a planned stop at a nearby four-star hotel. Instead, they opted for an "undisclosed location."
It is noted that the protests in Westfield were planned the previous week when it became known that Vens intended to spend four days vacationing at the local ski resort, but their aim was to express dissatisfaction with the domestic policies of President Donald Trump's administration, particularly the reduction of government employees, cuts to social benefits, and the decision to step back from combating climate change, among other issues.
However, following a dispute in the Oval Office between President Trump and Vens, along with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, the focus of the protests shifted to supporting Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, hundreds of protesters took to the streets on Saturday in the town of Waitsfield, Vermont, to express their disagreement with the stance of U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vens, who arrived at the local ski resort with his family.
On Friday, a public dispute occurred between the U.S. and Ukrainian presidents at the White House, resulting in the negotiations being derailed. Vens also played an active role in this, criticizing Zelensky.
