In Ukraine, food prices are expected to rise, with forecasts varying from 10-15% to 50% or more, although some products may become cheaper. Reports TSN. This information is provided by Kontrakty.UA.
According to agricultural expert Larysa Huk, as reported by ZN.ua,
inflation exceeded the National Bank's forecasts in December 2024, reaching 12%. The decline in sunflower crop yields is affecting oil prices, and it is likely that an increase will be observed in the first half of the year.
Currently, Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of raw milk, which is impacting dairy product prices. High prices for butter on the global market are yielding significant profits for producers, causing supermarket butter prices to remain above 100 UAH. In the first half of the year, butter prices will remain high, but future prices will depend on global trends.
She noted that bread prices continue to rise slowly, particularly for fresh baked goods. Chicken eggs, after an autumn spike to 8 UAH, have started to decline due to unsuccessful export attempts by producers.
"By the way, Ukraine actively exported eggs last year and earned over 100 million in foreign currency," she explained.
Buckwheat prices are increasing but have not yet reached the December 2022 record of 75 UAH/kg. Salt, buckwheat, onions, and potatoes are on the list of products that may match or exceed previous records.
Recall that we previously reported that in Ukraine, a rise in food prices is expected in February and March 2025, especially for vegetables.
