9% will be deducted from citizens' salaries to increase the amount of pension in the future. TSN reports. This was announced by Kontrakty.UA.
On January 27, Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich stated this during a presentation of the ministry's performance results.
According to her, as required by international partners, including the IMF, Ukraine will begin pension reform in 2025.
This level of salary deductions will allow individuals to receive 20% of their average salary as a pension throughout their lifetime. At the same time, individuals will have the option to contribute more voluntarily.
The Cabinet's draft law on pension reform may be submitted for consideration as early as this year.
In Zholnovich's opinion, the first steps towards implementing a cumulative pension system could begin as early as 2026.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that pensioners will receive an additional 2300 UAH. This supplement will only be provided during the period of martial law.
