Over the years of independence, Ukraine has failed to establish an effective greenhouse economy. As a result, seasonal price fluctuations have the most significant impact on vegetables. Writes UNIAN. This was reported by Kontrakty.UA.

"Regarding seasonal fluctuations, the vegetable group is at risk because Ukraine lacks a powerful and dynamic production of greenhouse vegetables. Currently, we can observe young potatoes from Egypt, cabbage from Greece, and tomatoes from Turkey or Spain. Over the past 30 years of Ukraine's independence, the greenhouse economy has not reached a level sufficient to meet domestic demand," said agricultural expert Larysa Huk during a broadcast on the "Kyiv24" channel.

She also noted that stores are experiencing a price rollback because they have reached a level beyond which consumers are unlikely to agree to purchase, particularly fresh dairy products.

"Right now, we see a certain conflict in the market between raw milk producers and dairy product manufacturers. Dairy plants blame farmers for raising prices, but it was the dairy plants themselves last summer that caused this situation by buying up raw materials for butter production for export," Huk concluded.
