In certain cities, rental prices have risen again. What is the current cost of housing rentals in Western Ukraine?

Rental prices for housing in the western regions of Ukraine continue to be the highest in the country. Over the past six months, the cost of one-bedroom apartments has surged once again in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Khmelnytskyi.

Rental Prices for Housing in Western Ukraine

The highest rental prices in Ukraine are found in Uzhhorod. One-bedroom apartments there are rented for 19,000 hryvnias, two-bedroom apartments for 23,300 hryvnias, and three-bedroom apartments for 29,600 hryvnias. Prices have remained unchanged over the last six months.

Rent has increased by 1% in Lviv. One-bedroom apartments have now reached prices comparable to those in the capital, costing 17,000 hryvnias per month. Two-bedroom apartments have decreased by 4% to 19,200 hryvnias, while the price of three-bedroom apartments has risen by 7% to 22,400 hryvnias.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, prices for one-bedroom apartments have surged by 16%, now costing 14,000 hryvnias. Two-bedroom apartments have increased by 25% and are rented for 16,900 hryvnias, with three-bedroom apartments priced the same.

In Lutsk, rental prices have remained stable, with one-bedroom apartments renting for 13,500 hryvnias and two-bedroom apartments for 15,000 hryvnias; however, there is no data available for three-bedroom apartments.

Rental prices in Rivne have also stayed the same. One-bedroom apartments cost 11,500 hryvnias, two-bedroom apartments 12,000 hryvnias, and three-bedroom apartments 12,300 hryvnias.

In Chernivtsi, one-bedroom apartments are slightly cheaper than in Rivne at 11,000 hryvnias, while two- and three-bedroom apartments are more expensive, renting for 14,800 and 16,900 hryvnias, respectively.

The rental prices in Ternopil have remained stable over the past six months. One-bedroom apartments are rented for 10,000 hryvnias, two-bedroom apartments for 11,800 hryvnias, and three-bedroom apartments for 16,900 hryvnias.

In Khmelnytskyi, one-bedroom apartments have increased in price by 5%, now averaging 10,000 hryvnias. Two-bedroom apartments have risen by 10% to 11,000 hryvnias, while the price of three-bedroom apartments has remained unchanged at 12,000 hryvnias.

Rental Prices in Other Regions

Along with Lviv and Uzhhorod, Kyiv ranks among the top three cities for rental prices. Over the last six months, one-bedroom apartments have increased by 6% to 17,000 hryvnias, while two- and three-bedroom apartments have decreased to 23,700 and 40,100 hryvnias, respectively.

In the last six months, the rental prices for one-bedroom apartments have dropped by 9% in Zaporizhia and Dnipro. They now cost 5,000 and 10,000 hryvnias, respectively. Two-bedroom apartments have decreased by 14% and 24%. In Zaporizhia, they rent for 6,000 hryvnias, and in Dnipro, for 13,600 hryvnias.

In Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, one-bedroom apartments are rented for 4,000 and 5,000 hryvnias, while in Chernihiv, they cost 6,250 hryvnias, in Kropyvnytskyi 7,000 hryvnias, and in Odesa 8,000 hryvnias.

One-bedroom apartments in Odesa have increased by 11%, now renting for 8,000 hryvnias. In Vinnytsia, such housing has risen by 4% to 12,000 hryvnias.

In Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, and Poltava, the prices for one-bedroom apartments have remained unchanged at 9,000, 9,750, and 10,000 hryvnias, respectively. There is no data available for Sumy, Kherson, or the occupied territories.

Previously, we reported that for purchasing an apartment with a mortgage under the "eOselya" program, a down payment of between 4,000 and 18,000 dollars is required, depending on the location of the property. Housing loans are available for terms of up to 20 years.
