Apple prices in Ukraine have reached a record high over the past 8 years and continue to rise. Reports UNIAN. This is reported by Kontrakty.UA.
This week, the prices for quality apples in Ukraine have surged. The reason for this increase is the rising demand from buyers across all categories.
According to analysts from the EastFruit project, quality apples from Ukrainian farms are currently being sold in the range of 25-32 UAH/kg ($0.59-0.76/kg), which is, on average, 13% more expensive than at the end of the previous working week.
It is noted that the supply of high-quality apples in the Ukrainian market is quite limited, which also contributes to the price increase for these fruits. Many gardeners are currently offering mainly products whose quality has begun to deteriorate due to prolonged storage. At the same time, quality apples are traditionally exported, and some gardeners plan to sell them no earlier than the beginning of spring.
Analysts have also pointed out that today apples in Ukraine are already being sold at an average of 61% higher than during the same period last year.
Food Prices in Ukraine
This week, cucumber prices in Ukraine have increased. The primary reason for the price rise is high demand for vegetables.
Thus, greenhouse cucumbers were sold at 100-140 UAH/kg ($2.37-3.31/kg), which is, on average, 20% more expensive than at the end of the previous working week.
At the beginning of 2025, procurement prices for raw milk in Ukraine decreased. There was also a decline in prices for butter. One of the reasons for this was the traditional decrease in demand during the New Year holidays.
