The price of greenhouse cucumbers has risen in Ukraine. One reason for this increase is the reduction in the supply of imported products in the domestic market. Reports TCN. This information has been shared by Kontrakty.UA.
Analysts from the EastFruit project have also reported this.
As of November 22, wholesale batches of greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine were being sold at prices ranging from 90-120 UAH/kg ($2.19-2.92/kg), depending on the variety, quality, and volume of the offered product. The previous week, the price range in this market segment was between 70-100 UAH/kg ($1.7-2.43/kg).
Market operators noted that the supply of imported vegetables has currently decreased and cannot fully meet all buyer requests, which does not contribute to stabilizing the price situation in this segment.
Analysts pointed out that Ukrainian producers are currently selling cucumbers at an average of 33% higher prices compared to the same period in 2023.
Market participants are confident that the price increase in this segment may persist in the near future. Only new substantial shipments of imported greenhouse vegetables to the domestic market could change the current situation.
Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian market for sugar is experiencing a price increase, with rates that may accelerate at the beginning of 2025.
