Following the president's signing of the law increasing taxes in Ukraine, there has been a mass closure of individual entrepreneurs. Since the law came into effect, 22,500 entrepreneurs have ceased their activities. Reports TSN. This information is provided by Kontrakty.UA.
This is reported by "OpenDataBot".
In particular, on the day the law was signed, November 28, 2,332 individual entrepreneurs were closed. In the first days after the law was adopted, the number of closures exceeded 1,000 daily, significantly surpassing the usual daily average of 700 closed businesses.
Overall, since the beginning of 2024, 254,288 individual entrepreneurs have ceased their activities. The largest spike in closures occurred in March when 28,690 entrepreneurs closed down. Analysts attribute this to entrepreneurs' attempts to avoid excessive tax obligations, simplify accounting, and the end of reporting periods.
In the fall, the number of closed individual entrepreneurs increased due to the adoption of a new tax law. Some entrepreneurs consider the new taxes to be unfair, while officials emphasize their relatively low rates compared to EU countries.
Experts note that changes in taxation have significantly impacted Ukraine's business environment, and the situation requires further analysis to mitigate negative effects.
As a reminder, Hetmansev suggested that the tax increase law is unlikely to be challenged in the Constitutional Court. He believes it is correct, although it should have been adopted much earlier.
