Starting from July 1, 2025, a pension system reform will commence in Ukraine, introducing changes to the procedures for calculating and disbursing disability pensions. Reported by TSN. This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Before the reform takes place, significant changes in the pension payment system are not anticipated from January 1, 2025. The current requirements for receiving a disability pension include at least one year of work experience. Disability payments are based on work experience and the disability group: for group 1 — 100% of the age pension, and for group 2 — 90%. The current minimum social pensions for disability are as follows:
- Group 1 — 2,760 hryvnias;
- Group 2 — 2,520 hryvnias;
- Group 3 — 2,093 hryvnias.
However, following the implementation of the reform, these payments may be altered or abolished if a new social protection system for people with disabilities is not established. Details of the reform will be disclosed closer to its implementation date.
