Article 49 of the law "On Mandatory State Pension Insurance" states that pension payments can be suspended by the decision of territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or a court.
Key grounds:
- payments were granted based on documents that contained false information
- the pensioner resides abroad (unless there is an international agreement recognized as mandatory by the Verkhovna Rada)
- the pensioner submitted a request to suspend payments due to temporary residence abroad
- the pensioner has died, has been declared missing, or has been pronounced dead
- the pensioner was granted the status of a missing person under special circumstances
- payments have not been received for six months
- the pensioner did not pass physical identification
It was previously reported that additional financial support for pensioners, particularly those affected by the Chernobyl disaster, will be provided in 2025. They will be able to receive pension supplements exceeding 2,000 hryvnias.
