This year, a decision may be made regarding the pension reform and the introduction of a cumulative pension. The system could be operational by 2026. TSN reports. This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.
The Minister of Social Policy, Oksana Zholnovych, stated this.
"The draft law on the cumulative pension system has been developed by the Cabinet of Ministers. We have already completed the first round of approval with all central executive bodies. We are now finalizing the comments that were raised and coordinating the final figures with the Ministry of Finance," she said.
According to the head of the Ministry of Social Policy, "within the next few months, this (the project - Ed.) will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada so that we can establish the entire legislative framework this year and begin the technical preparations."
During the operation of the cumulative pension system, a portion of citizens' contributions will go toward administrative costs, and to reduce the amount of this administration, high-quality IT services need to be established.
"This year, we are developing a certain IT system, working on a cost-effective and efficient concept for the State Accumulation Fund, and God willing, we can start the first accumulations from 2026. This is our plan," Oksana Zholnovych stated.
As previously reported, pensioners may receive an additional 2,300 UAH. These payments will be provided only during the state of martial law.
