This is reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Deutsche Welle. Reports also come from Kontrakty.UA.

According to BMW, the violations were discovered at the company's branch in the German city of Hanover. This was achieved through internal auditing, which led to a halt in the sale of vehicles to Russia.
"Additionally, BMW Group has decided to terminate the employees who bear the greatest responsibility for this," the company's press service reports.
Thus, BMW confirmed information from Business Insider, stating that over 100 premium-class vehicles were delivered to customers from the Russian Federation despite the country being under sanctions.
In the company's statement, it reiterated that the ban on exporting cars to Russia is part of the sanctions and that BMW complies with them.
The BMW Group also noted that products may sometimes enter the Russian market through so-called "grey import" mechanisms, where goods arrive via third-party suppliers, bypassing official channels. The company emphasized that it is taking active measures to prevent such occurrences.

Let us remind you that in July this year, the well-known Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr prohibited its dealers from selling cars in Russia and Belarus.

The reason is that the Chinese conglomerate Geely, which owns Zeekr, decided to avoid the risk of falling under sanctions.
