Food Inflation in Ukraine

According to the NBU, food inflation has rapidly accelerated due to the effects of hot, rainless weather during the summer and fall of this year, impacting crop yields, ripening times, and the quality parameters of food products, primarily for a range of vegetables and fruits.

According to the UN Food Agency (FAO), in December 2024, global wholesale prices for key food products were 6.7% higher than the previous year. By the end of the year, international prices for butter showed the largest decline, ending a 14-month streak of continuous growth due to restrained global demand and accumulated stocks.
