The second An-225 "Mriya" aircraft is 70% complete. The fuselage and wing are the main and most valuable components of the plane.
This was reported during a broadcast on "KYIV24" by the commander of the largest transport aircraft "Mriya" and "Ruslan," Dmytro Antonov. TSN reports this information, as well as Kontrakty.UA.
This was done back in 1990, but has been preserved. It was intended for another aircraft.
"Had it not been for the collapse of the Soviet Union, we would have had two planes in a few years. That was the plan, but it did not come to fruition. We have kept the second aircraft in good condition for all these 30 years. It may be possible to complete it. We need to finish it – 30% of the work involves equipping the new aircraft with the necessary technology," Antonov noted.
Recall that the "Antonov" enterprise has completed all urgent tasks and will continue the restoration of the world's largest aircraft "Mriya" after the end of hostilities. Currently, the enterprise is focusing its resources on tasks that are more prioritized for the state.
