Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Donald Trump's future special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Kit Kellogg, will visit Ukraine.
His visit will take place even before the inauguration of the new president of the United States.
President Volodymyr Zelensky made this announcement during a meeting with journalists in Brussels.
Commenting on information from Reuters sources about a potential visit, Zelensky assured that the trip will definitely happen.
"It will take place in early January. We expect Mr. Kellogg, and then we will discuss what he means or meant," the president stated, referring to Kellogg's previously expressed ideas in the media about ending the Russian-Ukrainian war.
General Kellogg's visit is expected to occur before Trump assumes the presidency, meaning before Kellogg is appointed to the position. It is worth noting that the inauguration of the new president is scheduled for January 20, 2025.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed skepticism about the success of Kellogg's mission.
"To be honest, I don't believe that Putin wants to end the war," he stated.
Ukraine and Russia are already
ready to hold negotiations to end the war, said Kit Kellogg, the future special representative for Ukraine and Russia, chosen by Trump.
Moreover, the leaders of the European Union at the summit
intend to send a "clear signal" to the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump regarding their continued support for Ukraine. Additionally, they will discuss security and economic issues related to his return to the White House.
