Today, December 11, law enforcement officials are conducting searches at Ukrzaliznytsia as part of a criminal investigation into the abuse of power by officials in international passenger transportation.
This information is reported by the
National Police and the
Ukrzaliznytsia company itself.
The case concerns a criminal investigation into the abuses committed by a group of officials from the Ukrzaliznytsia division while servicing and transporting passengers on international trains. The actions of those involved have resulted in significant losses and the creation of an artificial shortage of tickets for the most popular routes.
Investigative actions are being conducted with the assistance of Ukrzaliznytsia. These operations are taking place in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, specifically searches are being carried out at the residences of employees connected to the criminal schemes and in the offices of the structural unit of UZ.
Additionally, investigative actions are planned on international trains during their departures and arrivals. The police ask passengers to understand the situation and assist law enforcement in performing their official duties.
Ukrzaliznytsia clarified that the aim of these activities is to "stop the operations of an organized criminal group that has been exploiting ordinary railway workers."
Details are promised to be disclosed later.
Previously, we
wrote that in September of this year, Ukrzaliznytsia had to provide explanations regarding a scandalous video. At that time, footage surfaced showing a company security officer sleeping in the conductor's compartment, presumably intoxicated.
