He will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, with plans to finalize an agreement on deepening military assistance to Ukraine.
According to The Guardian,
It is expected that the British Prime Minister will discuss what security guarantees London can offer Kyiv, including the possibility of British troops participating in post-war peacekeeping forces.
“Putin's ambitions to sever Ukraine from its closest partners have suffered a significant strategic defeat. Instead, we are closer than ever, and this partnership will elevate our friendship to a new level,” said Starmer.
As a result of the visit, Ukraine and the UK will sign a partnership agreement to deepen existing defense relations, with a proposal for further military assistance to Kyiv. These arrangements come amid concerns that the US may begin to scale back its support for Kyiv.
Funding will be directed toward enterprises supporting the “green” economy, as well as marginalized groups, including women and veterans.
