Thanks to the operation of the Ukrainian maritime corridor, over 85 million tons of cargo have been transported.
The press service of the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine
reported on this matter.
“The Ukrainian corridor continues to demonstrate its effectiveness and reliability, even under the extremely challenging conditions of war. As of today, thanks to its operation, over 85 million tons of cargo have been transported, including 56.7 million tons of grain successfully sent for export to ensure global food security,” the statement reads.
It is noted that during the operation of the corridor, more than 3,000 vessels have utilized its capabilities.
“Despite constant shelling, air alerts, and forced work stoppages, port workers continue to perform their tasks with maximum dedication. Their work is a foundation of stability that supports Ukraine's economy and maintains connections with the world. Every ton of cargo is another step towards our shared victory on the economic front and the support of global food stability,” APMU added.
It is worth recalling that Norway is
allocating an additional 50 million Norwegian krone (4.5 million dollars) for the initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” aimed at combating hunger in the regions of the Middle East and Africa.
The government has
maintained the forecast for a 7% increase in Ukrainian exports in 2025, despite a smaller than expected harvest of late crops this year.
Since the start of the export corridor in the Black Sea, 321 infrastructure facilities in Ukrainian ports have been
damaged due to Russian attacks.
