Syryi has ordered an investigation into reports of mistreatment of soldiers in the 211th Brigade.

Commander Alexander Syrsky responded to media reports regarding the mistreatment of soldiers in the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade of the Support Forces.

Сырский поручил провести расследование по фактам издевательств над солдатами 211-й бригады.
There is an ongoing inspection.

This was reported by the Telegram channel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“By the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a commission from the Military Law Enforcement Service of Ukraine has been dispatched to the military unit to verify the specified information,” the General Staff writes.
It is noted that during the inspection, the commander of the military unit has been suspended from performing his official duties.

The General Staff adds that a service check was already conducted in September 2024 regarding certain mentioned facts, which resulted in the initiation of a corresponding criminal case.

As reported by “Ukrainian Truth,” the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade was formed in April 2022, led by Colonel Oleg Poberezhnyuk. His wife worked at the territorial recruitment and social support center (TCK and SP) in Kamianets-Podilskyi, and individuals from Poberezhnyuk's close circle began appearing in the unit.

For instance, his friend Valeriy Pastukh was appointed as the deputy commander of the brigade, while Pastukh's son Vladyslav, who is also Poberezhnyuk's godson, was given the position of commander of one of the platoons in the first battalion. It later became known that Vladyslav used physical violence against the unit's soldiers and demanded money from them.

Colonel Poberezhnyuk himself sent four soldiers to the Khmelnytskyi region, where they were engaged in the construction of his private house. Meanwhile, no one faced any consequences for these actions.

In the meantime, the SBU and NABU uncovered two officials from the command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for abuses in the procurement of spare parts for combat aircraft. They caused the state a loss of 27.3 million hryvnias.

Prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General submitted an indictment to the court against the former head of the Central Food Supply Department of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for illegal enrichment and declaring false information.
