The Ministry of Education clarified the situation regarding the mobilization of students and teachers during the holidays.
The new Cabinet of Ministers decree regarding the procedure for granting deferments from conscription includes a provision stating that students and educators are eligible for this deferment until the end of the academic year.

The Ministry of Education has assured that no one from these categories will be mobilized during the summer, and the contradiction found in the document will be corrected.
This was stated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and MP Roman Gryshchuk.
Gryshchuk noted that on January 16, a resolution from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the procedure for granting deferments from military service came into effect.
However, according to him, certain provisions of this document raised concerns among representatives of the educational community and MPs, as their interpretation could contradict the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization".
In particular, he pointed out that the resolution stipulates that:
"According to this resolution, the deferment is granted until the end of the academic year, which means May-June. What happens to teachers during the summer months? The same risks apply to students," he emphasized.
The Ministry of Education and Science denied any threats of mobilization for students, graduate students, and teachers.
The agency noted that:
Earlier, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalенко, denied the information about the potential mobilization of students undergoing basic military training who could be expelled. He noted that such individuals are not subject to mobilization until they reach the age of 25.
Additionally, we remind you that the mobilization of medical workers is carried out at the request of the Command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and thereafter this is handled by territorial recruitment centers (TRC).

- For scientific, scientific-pedagogical, and pedagogical workers mentioned in subparagraph 2 of paragraph 2 of Appendix 5, the deferment is valid until the end of the academic year or until the loss of legal grounds for receiving it.
"According to this resolution, the deferment is granted until the end of the academic year, which means May-June. What happens to teachers during the summer months? The same risks apply to students," he emphasized.
The Ministry of Education and Science denied any threats of mobilization for students, graduate students, and teachers.

- no mobilization of representatives from these categories entitled to deferment under the law is planned;
- there are no discussions or debates on this matter at the government level;
- all contradictions in subordinate legislation or other documents will be resolved in accordance with current legislation.
