The Ternopil Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense has initiated a criminal investigation regarding the use of unlawful measures of influence against subordinates by the command of the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade.
The investigation has been assigned to the State Bureau of Investigations.
This is reported by the SBI on its
website.
Employees of the SBI have initiated a criminal investigation to uncover possible instances of misconduct and violence by officials of the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against their subordinates. The investigation will examine materials collected during internal reviews conducted by the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as well as reports in the media and social networks regarding the mistreatment of soldiers.
The SBI notes that they have not received any materials regarding this situation from either official sources or members of the brigade.
"The State Bureau of Investigations urges military personnel to promptly report to the Bureau with official complaints if such incidents occur within their military formations. This will not only allow for a swift response to violations but also help prevent similar cases in the future," the statement reads.
Additionally, the National Police is also conducting an investigation concerning the brigade's leadership for allegedly involving subordinates in the construction of their home in the Khmelnytskyi region instead of serving in combat areas.
Earlier, the commander Oleksandr Syrskyi
responded to media reports about the mistreatment of soldiers in the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade of the Support Forces.
