On the night of December 31, near the village of Nastashino in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a passenger car collided with a truck.
As a result of the traffic accident, five people lost their lives,
reported the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration, Svitlana Onyshchuk.
Law enforcement officials determined that a 20-year-old driver of a BMW 520, a resident of Burshtyn, exceeded the speed limit and veered into the oncoming lane on a curved section of the road, subsequently colliding with a DAF truck. The truck was driven by a 52-year-old resident of Moldova.
Specifically, it was found that the remaining tread depth on the rear tires of the BMW did not meet the required standards.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the car and four of his passengers, including two children, were killed.
