What to do if hospitals demand payment from patients with ARVI – an explanation from the Ministry of Health.
Upon hospitalization for complications related to ARVI, influenza, or COVID-19, the patient is entitled to receive necessary medications and examinations free of charge, as stipulated in the medical guarantees.

This was stated by the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.
"If there are no medications in the hospital or if you are referred for an X-ray or CT scan and told that you need to pay for it, please call the Ministry of Health hotline at 0 800 505 201 or the NSZU hotline at 16-77. We will find ways to respond. The medical guarantee program covers these services, so patients should receive them free of charge," the official explained.
In Ukraine, over the next 3-4 weeks, the incidence of ARVI, influenza, and COVID-19 will increase. Therefore, additional audits of hospital beds will be conducted.
As of early February, in 5 regions of Ukraine, a slight excess of the epidemic threshold has been detected due to the rise in ARVI, influenza, and COVID-19 cases.
