Britain will provide Ukraine with a substantial aid package.

This was announced by the head of the British government, Keir Starmer, at the Support Ukraine summit.

Starmer emphasized that the UK is strengthening Ukraine to ensure lasting peace, rather than merely a pause in the conflict. He highlighted that part of this assistance includes military support amounting to £4.5 billion, representing the largest contribution from Britain to date.

Additionally, the Prime Minister of the UK announced new sanctions against Russia and noted that this issue will be discussed during the G7 meeting. He also mentioned the need to lower oil prices and the full involvement of G7 countries in sanctions against Russia.

Starmer stressed that Ukraine must be a participant in peace negotiations. He pointed out that partner countries should support Ukraine's sovereignty and establish strong security guarantees for the nation. The UK is prepared to support this, including the possibility of deploying its troops in Ukraine alongside European partners under appropriate conditions.

Earlier, we reported that the UK decided to ban entry to individuals who provide significant support to Russia or owe their wealth to the Russian state. New sanctions are planned to be announced on February 24.

Previously, New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced new sanctions against Russian entities and support for the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine. The country will also allocate $3 million to the Trust Fund for assistance.
