According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Times of Israel, referencing a post from IDF spokesperson Avichai Adraee on social media platform X.
It is reported that residents of Gaza will be allowed to return to the northern part of the enclave on foot via the Netzarim road and Rashid street starting at 7 AM local time on Monday.
Beginning at 9 AM local time, vehicles will be permitted to pass through Salah al-Din street in the east after being screened by security services.
Adraee also issued a series of warnings for residents of Gaza, including not transporting terrorist militants and weapons to the northern part of the enclave, avoiding IDF positions in Gaza or Israeli territory, staying away from the “Rafah” crossing and the “Philadelphi Corridor” in southern Gaza, and refraining from diving or fishing in the Mediterranean Sea in the coming days.
Later on social media, footage emerged showing thousands of Palestinians heading north in the Gaza Strip along Rashid street.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Israeli government approved a ceasefire agreement with the Hamas group in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages on Saturday, January 18.
In Israel, it was stated that Hamas did not provide Israel with information about the status of hostages that are to be released in the coming weeks on Saturday evening, which constitutes a breach of the agreement regarding the release of prisoners and the ceasefire in Gaza. Specifically, Hamas also violated the terms of the agreement by not releasing civilian woman Arbel Yehud along with female soldiers on Saturday.
In response, Israel stated that it would not allow the previously scheduled return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza until Yehud is released.
