Salaries of officials have increased by 60%: a new ranking of government departments has been released.

The Ministry of Finance has updated the information regarding salaries and the number of employees in government agencies, local state administrations, and judicial authorities. In November 2024, the average salary in central government institutions was 62,000 hryvnias.

Compared to January, the average salary of 21,700 officials has increased by 61%. At the beginning of the year, it was 38,600 hryvnias.

Thus, the salary of officials exceeds the average level in Ukraine by 3.4 times. According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, in September the salary was 18,000 hryvnias.

Salary Rankings

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Antimonopoly Committee leads in salary levels. On average, its employees earn 118,700 hryvnias. The committee employs 268 people. The salaries of the management are among the highest at 215,000 hryvnias.

In the Ministry of Justice, which recently experienced a breach of state registries, employees take home 100,500 hryvnias (997 people).

In the Central Election Commission, which effectively has no work during the war due to the lack of elections, the salary is 97,200 hryvnias (248 people). The management's salary is the highest: 18 individuals earn an average of 310,300 hryvnias per month.

In the Cabinet of Ministers' Secretariat, the average salary is 65,500 hryvnias. The actual number of employees receiving a salary is 672 people. The management receives 132,900 hryvnias.

Officials in Ukraine

As of January 1, 2024, 169,000 individuals were employed in 108 government bodies. In 2023, the actual number of employees decreased by 6,800 people.

In December 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a reform of public servant salaries, which will save 8 billion hryvnias annually.
