According to reports, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, handed over vehicles and equipment to the battalion whose fighters protect the skies of Sumy region and carry out other combat missions, including in the Kursk direction.
Along with the pickups, the defenders of Sumy region received tablets, laptops, power banks, spare parts for vehicles, and more.
“These pickups are new, equipped with everything necessary. The equipment and technology will enable you to successfully carry out combat tasks,” Artyukh noted.
He also mentioned that the transferred equipment was purchased thanks to an auction organized by regional enterprises, charitable foundations, and communities.
As reported, the military unit that received the assistance was formed from representatives of Sumy region communities. Since the beginning of 2025, it has accounted for approximately 80 enemy drones.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 1, the region's air defense units shot down 11 “Shaheds” in the skies over Sumy region.
Since the start of the year, Sumy air defense forces have already eliminated 556 Russian drones that brought death and destruction to Ukraine.
