According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the State Customs Service in a Telegram post.
Experts from the National Museum of the History of Ukraine have determined that the metal helmet is a firefighter's helmet from 1923, produced between 1936 and 1941.
It was widely used by firefighters in the USSR until the early 1960s, although the production of these helmets ceased with the onset of World War II.
0Experts note that the helmet is one of the rare preserved examples of uniforms worn by employees and workers of fire organizations in the USSR, which is of great interest to collectors and possesses cultural and historical value.
1According to the current legislation of Ukraine, permits are required for the export of cultural valuables abroad; however, such documents were not provided to customs officials.
2Regarding the sender, the Kyiv customs has drawn up a protocol for a customs violation and seized the firefighter's helmet.
As reported by Ukrinform, employees of the Lviv customs seized rare publications that were being illegally attempted to be exported abroad and transferred them to the scientific library named after Stefanyk in Lviv.
