Employees of the Kyiv Customs have prevented the illegal transport of a historical fire helmet from the last century to Scotland in an international postal shipment, which holds cultural and historical significance.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the State Customs Service in a Telegram post.

Experts from the National Museum of the History of Ukraine have determined that the metal helmet is a firefighter's helmet from 1923, produced between 1936 and 1941.

It was widely used by firefighters in the USSR until the early 1960s, although the production of these helmets ceased with the onset of World War II.
