According to the results of 2024, over 65% of the new passenger car market in Ukraine was occupied by models with traditional engines. Reports TSN. This information was provided by Kontrakty.UA.
These statistics were published by the portal "Ukravtoprom".
As before, gasoline-powered vehicles remain the most popular among Ukrainians, although their market share has decreased by 7% compared to 2023, currently standing at 40%.
The segment of diesel cars is showing growth – its share has risen from 22.8% to 25.6%. There is also an increasing popularity of hybrid vehicles – their share has grown from 17.7% to 19.5%. The share of electric cars has also increased, reaching 14.5% (up from 12% in 2023). Meanwhile, cars equipped with gas cylinder equipment remain niche products, occupying less than 1% of the market.
Among the leaders in various market segments are the following models:
- gasoline cars – Mazda CX-5,
- diesel cars – Renault Duster,
- hybrid cars – Toyota RAV-4,
- electric cars – Volkswagen ID.4,
- cars with gas equipment – Hyundai Tucson.
Notably, in the fall of 2024, used car sales in Ukraine fell. Nevertheless, gasoline models remained the most popular.
