Russian troops struck Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region with heavy artillery during the night of January 2.

This was reported on Facebook by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

"Last night, the Russian army attacked Nikopol. They targeted the city with heavy artillery. No one was injured. In other areas of Dnipropetrovsk region, there were no enemy strikes," he noted.

According to Lysak, in the evening and at night, air defense forces shot down three Russian drones in Dnipropetrovsk region.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 1, the Russians attacked the Nikopol district about 30 times.
