South Korean intelligence reports that North Korean troops have not been spotted on the front lines in the Kursk region since mid-January.

Military personnel from North Korea have not been involved in combat operations in the Kursk region of Russia since mid-January.
Согласно южнокорейской разведке, военные КНДР не наблюдаются на фронте в Курской области с середины января.

As reported by Ukrinform, this information comes from Yonhap, citing data from South Korea's intelligence agency (NIS).

“Since mid-January, there have been no signs that North Korean troops stationed in Russia's Kursk region are engaged in combat,” stated NIS.

The South Korean intelligence agency added that significant casualties are one of the reasons for the absence of North Korean forces on the battlefield in the Kursk region.

NIS also mentioned that measures are currently being taken to determine the exact reasons for the absence of North Korean troops on the battlefield.

It is noted that North Korea has sent approximately 11,000 military personnel to support Russia in its war against Ukraine.

According to NIS, of these, 300 have already been killed, and around 2,700 have sustained injuries.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that out of three brigades of North Korean military personnel, one has been completely destroyed, and the other two have suffered significant losses.

Earlier, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, mentioned that among the North Korean soldiers fighting on the side of the Russian Federation, rotation measures are currently taking place due to high casualties in personnel.
