As reported by Ukrinform, referencing Minstrategprom, the signing took place during a meeting between the Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Herman Smetanin, and the Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen, along with representatives from both governments.
“Initially, we held a joint meeting with the Ministry of Defense, where we signed a Letter of Intent. The document outlines the implementation of measures for control and transparency in financial support for defense production in Ukraine. It pertains to funds allocated under the 'Danish model,'” Smetanin stated.
He reminded that in 2024, under the 'Danish model,' the production of weapons and military equipment manufactured in Ukraine was successfully financed with €538 million.
Additionally, the participants of the meeting discussed the potential to expand the types of weapons that could be financed through this system in the future, as well as opportunities for funding joint defense projects. Ukraine already has agreements for cooperation with Danish companies such as Weibel, Terma, and several manufacturers of drones and defense equipment.
As previously reported, Denmark has provided Ukraine with over €7 million in military assistance since 2022.
