Revenues from the tax on electronic services provided by non-residents in 2024 reached UAH 11.2 billion, which is nearly four times the initially projected amount.

This was reported in Telegram by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy, Danilo Hetmantsev, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

"Predictions and forecasts that this (Google tax - ed.) would not take effect in Ukraine, that non-residents would not register and would exit the Ukrainian market, have proven to be unfounded. On the contrary, revenues from the so-called 'Google tax' are increasing year by year," Hetmantsev noted.

He pointed out that budget revenues show consistent growth: from UAH 4.3 billion in the first year of the tax's implementation to UAH 8 billion in 2023 and UAH 11.2 billion in 2024. Thus, current revenues have nearly quadrupled the projected figures set at the time the law was passed.

"We expect that the forthcoming initiatives for the implementation of the DAC 7, ATAD I, and ATAD II directives will be as successful as the 'Google tax'," he added.

As reported by Ukrinform, in June 2021, the Verkhovna Rada amended the Tax Code of Ukraine to enhance the taxation procedure for value-added tax on transactions involving the provision of electronic services by non-residents to individuals. The new tax was projected to contribute UAH 3 billion to the state budget annually.

According to the law, large international corporations are required to pay 20% on electronic services provided in Ukraine.
