In Okhtyrka, Sumy region, a teenager was assaulted, leading the police to open an investigation.

This was reported by the  communication department of the Sumy region police, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

“The incident occurred on January 31 on one of the streets in the city of Okhtyrka. According to preliminary information, a verbal conflict arose between the teenagers, which escalated into a physical altercation. As a result, one boy struck another in the stomach,” the message states.

According to the report, the incident became known after the victim's mother contacted law enforcement.

The police identified all participants in the conflict and collected testimonies from witnesses.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the signs of a criminal offense under part 1 of article 126 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, “Bodily injury and torture.”

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing, and all circumstances of the event are being established.

As reported, the police initiated criminal proceedings regarding the infliction of bodily harm to a minor in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region.
