Umierov and Syrskyi congratulated the State Transport Special Service military personnel on their holiday.

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi congratulated military personnel and employees of the State Special Transport Service on their professional holiday.
Умеров и Сирский поздравили с праздником военных Государственной специальной службы транспорта.

As noted by Umierov on Facebook, today Ukraine celebrates the Day of the State Special Transport Service for the first time.

According to him, "a reliable infrastructure is the foundation of our defense. The efficient operation of the transport system is crucial for the swift delivery of essential supplies to the front lines, which in turn means the safety of our soldiers."

The personnel of the SSTS are those who ensure the uninterrupted operation of infrastructure even in the most challenging conditions of war. They restore bridges and roads, fortify critical facilities, and organize their defense, the minister emphasized.

In the context of full-scale war, the units of SSTS carry out another vital mission – demining areas and constructing fortifications. Daily, SSTS sapper teams clear Ukrainian land of explosive hazards, restoring safety to towns and villages. The service's engineers tirelessly work to strengthen defensive positions, Umierov noted.

He expressed gratitude to the SSTS personnel for their daily efforts that make Ukraine stronger.

On the page of the Commander-in-Chief on Facebook, it states: "Today we honor the warriors who ensure the mobility, defense capability, and infrastructural resilience of Ukraine – the personnel of the State Special Transport Service."

As the general emphasized, in the conditions of full-scale war, the warriors of SSTS perform critically important tasks daily: restoring vital facilities, building fortifications, demining areas, and providing logistics for the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

"Your work is an integral part of the strength of our army and state," noted Syrsky.

"On this day, I especially want to remember every Ukrainian defender and defender in the ranks of SSTS who gave their lives for Ukraine in the fight against Russian occupiers. Eternal memory," highlighted the Commander-in-Chief.

Syrsky thanked each service member and employee of SSTS for their endurance, professionalism, and dedication to Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 6, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree establishing February 5 as the Day of the State Special Transport Service.

By a decree dated April 26, Zelensky appointed Oleksandr Yakovets as the head of the administration of the State Special Transport Service.
