This was reported by the CEO of the company, Ihor Smeliansky, via Telegram, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“Today marks the end of the era of 'little blue robes' and manual sorting of parcels. We have installed the last automatic sorting lines in the country in Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia, thereby fulfilling one of my key promises. Now, 100% of parcels are sorted and processed on automatic and semi-automatic lines produced in Ukraine,” the message states.
Smeliansky noted that the automation project for sorting centers began in April 2023, with investments exceeding 1 billion UAH.
Currently, the system is being refined, which will allow users to track their parcels and the delivery date in the Ukrposhta app right from the moment of dispatch.
According to Smeliansky, over 85% of parcels are already delivered within two days or faster, and the logistics improvements will ensure next-day delivery for urgent shipments.
Ukrposhta plans full automation of letter and newspaper sorting.
As previously reported, JSC "Ukrposhta" and the UK postal operator Royal Mail signed a cooperation agreement aimed at reducing shipping costs for parcels weighing up to 1 kg for sellers on Amazon, Etsy, and eBay.
