The matter is that, according to analysts, after record prices for white cabbage in the 2024/2025 season, many Ukrainian farmers are likely to enter this market. According to OBOZ.UA. This information is reported by Kontakty.UA.

- an increase in the supply of cabbage in the market;
- a decrease in its price.
"After record prices for cabbage in 2024, many are trying to enter this segment. In 2025, we may face a surplus of cabbage, and consequently, a drop in its price. For instance, in 2022, onions were priced at about 40 UAH/kg, and in 2023-2024, farmers saw the profit potential and rushed into this business, hoping for quick returns," the report states.
Currently, according to analysts from "Minfin", the price of cabbage is at an average level of 51.5 UAH. This is just slightly lower than the record they recorded – which was set in June 2023, when the vegetable averaged 53.16 UAH/kg.
In general, large supermarket chains sell cabbage for 44.8-64.8 UAH/kg. Specifically:
- Novus – 49.99 UAH/kg;
- Metro – 44.8 UAH/kg;
- Auchan – 46.4 UAH/kg;
- Megamarket – 64.8 UAH/kg.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, at the same time, an increase in egg prices is expected in Ukraine. According to forecasts, this will happen at the end of April due to rising demand before Easter.
