Ukrainian tennis players begin their journey in the Australian Open qualifying rounds.

On January 6th, the qualification for the first Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season, the Australian Open, will kick off in Melbourne. The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 12th to 26th.

Qualifying for the first Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season, the Australian Open, begins in Melbourne on January 6th and will take place from January 12-26.

As reported by BTU, two Ukrainian tennis players will compete in the qualifying round: Anastasia Soboleva and Daria Snihur, according to Ukrinform.

In the first round, Soboleva will face the Swiss player Viktorija Golubic, who is seeded 9th, while Snihur, seeded 30th, will go up against Colombian Emiliana Arango.

Another Ukrainian player, Katarina Zavatska, has yet to make it into the qualifying draw. She is first on the alternate list and needs one higher-ranked player to withdraw from the tournament to have a chance to compete for a spot in the main draw of the Australian Open.

As previously reported, spots in the main draw have been secured by Ukrainian players Marta Kostyuk, Elina Svitolina, Dayana Yastremska, Angelina Kalinina, and Yulia Starodubtseva.
