The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, confirmed the attack on the Ryazan Oil Refinery in his Telegram channel, stating it is one of the largest in Russia.
“The refinery has a processing capacity of 17.1 million tons of oil per year, making it one of the five largest refineries in the Russian Federation. It produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, and petrochemicals. Aviation fuel plays a particularly crucial role, being critically important for the frontline aviation of the Russian army and strategic long-range aviation that strikes Ukraine,” Kovalenko wrote.
The Ryazan Oil Refinery was attacked twice earlier this year: on the night of January 24 and the night of January 26.
As Ukrinform reported, on the night of Wednesday, February 19, drones struck the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara region (Russia).
