As reported by Ukrinform, OUZ Coventry - Association of Ukrainian Women in Great Britain shared this news on Facebook.
It is noted that the Mayor of Coventry, Mel Matton, also attended the celebration.
“Delicious kutya, borscht, varenyky, holodets, herring, and sweets were prepared by our women. The head of the Ukrainian Society in Coventry, Marian Kosmirak, welcomed everyone present and wished the community all the best in 2025 and a swift victory for Ukraine,” the post states.
The concert of carols featured the church choir, children from the Saturday school, and Father Taras Dovbenyuk, who performed an ancient Hutsul carol with a drum. Additionally, all attendees had the opportunity to sing well-known Ukrainian carols together.
“We express our immense gratitude to all the women who prepared delicious dishes, helped decorate, and cleaned the hall, stage, and kitchen after the concert. It was a very beautiful and pleasant evening,” the diaspora organization added.
Recall that earlier in January, a celebration of “Malanka” took place at the Ukrainian Community Center of the Ukrainian Association in Great Britain in Leeds, during which 2,755 pounds sterling were raised to support Ukraine.
