According to Ukrinform, this was reported by ASTRA.
As seen from the geolocation of photos and videos shared on social media, an oil depot of the "Crystal" plant of Rosrezerv ignited in Engels after the drone attack. This facility is responsible for storing fuel for the "Engels-2" airbase.
ASTRA managed to geolocate the site by comparing footage from the videos with images from Google panoramic maps.
Photos later published by the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, confirm this information.
The regional head stated that an "operational headquarters will be set up at the enterprise where the fire occurred due to the UAV attack."
Current Time adds that residents of Engels reported explosions near the oil depot during the night and shared photos of the fire.
Later, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported once again that during the night, air defense forces "intercepted and destroyed 32 Ukrainian drones."
Specifically, 11 drones were reportedly destroyed over the Saratov region, four each over the Kursk and Rostov regions, three each over Belgorod and Bryansk, two over the Krasnodar region, one over the Volgograd region, and four over the Sea of Azov.
As reported by Ukrinform, in Russia, restrictions on flights were imposed at Kazan airport on the morning of January 5 "for security reasons" due to a potential drone attack.
