This was reported by the Russian BBC service, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
The publication notes, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, that 15 Ukrainian drones were destroyed by air defense systems - 8 over the Ryazan region, 6 over Kursk, and 1 over Belgorod.
During the night, Governor Pavel Malkov informed about the drone attack on the Ryazan region.
Russian Telegram channels claim, referencing eyewitness accounts, that the target of the attack was once again the Ryazan Oil Refinery. Specifically, the Telegram channel ASTRA reports that there is likely a fire at the Ryazan Oil Refinery following the attack.
ASTRA geolocated footage of the fire shared in local media and chats - these images were indeed taken in Ryazan and illustrate a fire in the vicinity of the plant, but given that the previous attack on the same facility occurred on the night of January 24, confirming the date of the footage is problematic.
The Telegram channel “VChK-OGPU” reports that the Ryazan Oil Refinery is surrounded, with a large number of fire trucks converging on the plant.
The head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, confirmed the strike on the refinery in his Telegram, stating: “The Ryazan Oil Refinery is being targeted. This is fuel for military equipment and more.”
Additionally, temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft were imposed early Sunday morning at the airports of Izhevsk and Kazan, as stated by a representative of Rosaviation in a Telegram message. The airports suspended flights “for the safety of civil aviation operations.”
Such measures are taken during drone attacks, the publication notes. Authorities in Tatarstan and Udmurtia have not yet reported on drone attacks.
At Kazan Airport, the restrictions were lifted at 07:00 local time, and half an hour later, Izhevsk Airport reopened.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of January 24, Russia announced a drone attack on 11 regions, the capital, and occupied Crimea. It later became known that the drones targeted the Ryazan Oil Refinery, which was confirmed by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
