As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced on Facebook by the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia.
Opening the concert, the Speaker of the Saeima of Latvia, Ms. Daiga Mierina, and the Ambassador of Ukraine, Anatoliy Kutsovol, addressed the audience. The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, also expressed her gratitude to Latvia for its support of Ukraine through a special video message directed to the concert guests and the entire Latvian nation. The Ambassador of Latvia to Ukraine, Ilgvars Kļava, also delivered a separate video address.
“The event became a true symbol of unity and support that Latvia provides to Ukraine in its fight for freedom and independence. Outstanding Latvian and Ukrainian musicians performed on stage: Andrejs Osokins, Melo-M, Darya Leleko, Brigita Reisone, Jauno Jāņu orķestris, Sub Scriptum, Anastasia Vasylenko, Ralfs Eilands, Etnogrupa Ogas, musical groups of bandurists from Ukraine "Sokoliki" and "Horlitsa", Marta Korneliusa, Viktorija Prituļaka, Katrīna Gupalo, and Edgars Vilcāns, Sudden Lights, Ieva Akuratere, and Leons Sējāns, Atis Zviedris, the Latvian Diplomatic Choir, and Ilze Rijniece,” – the post stated.
Throughout the concert, which was also broadcast on Latvian television, everyone had the opportunity to make a donation. The funds raised from the concert will go to support Ukrainian children in collaboration with the Latvian charity fund Ziedot.lv.
Among the guests at the event were Ukrainian military personnel – defenders of Ukraine who are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in Latvia, as well as members of the Presidium of the Saeima of Latvia, Latvian parliamentarians, ministers, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, the mayor and deputy mayors of Riga, foreign diplomats, volunteers, representatives of public organizations, and friends of Ukraine who support Ukraine and stand alongside the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom and independence.
The embassy expressed heartfelt gratitude to its partners – the Ziedot.lv fund, Latvian television, the National Library of Latvia, and Meduza Events Agency for their assistance in organizing this event in support of Ukraine, as well as to all who believe in Ukraine and continue to support the Ukrainian people.
We remind you that an exhibition of drawings by Ukrainian children from Chernihiv titled “Colors of Community: Ukraine-Latvia” was held in the Saeima of Latvia.
