This is reported on Facebook by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“On January 28, due to a thaw, significant avalanche danger (level 3) is expected in the highlands of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Rescuers warn to be cautious and refrain from heading into the mountains during the avalanche danger period,” the message from the State Emergency Service in the region states.
According to the information from Mountain Rescuers of Prykarpattia, it is cloudy on Mount Pip Ivan, with a west wind at 18 m/s, and the air temperature is -3°C.
Pip Ivan (also known as Popivan, Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi, or Chorna Hora) is one of the highest peaks of the Ukrainian Carpathians, with an elevation of 2028.5 m.
