3MIOK Director Iryna Kliuchkovska introduced the Institute's educational projects and shared information about MIOK's activities. She urged for active collaboration with the World Coordinating Educational Council of the World Congress of Ukrainians (SKVOR SKU), which coordinates the global educational direction, and its leader Liuba Liubchyk. She clarified the position of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine regarding Saturday and Sunday schools and announced the commencement of work on the legal regulation of their activities.
4“We stand on the brink of changes that require the consolidation of efforts from state bodies, the public sector, and educational environments. Only together can we adequately respond to the challenges that life has thrown at us in the context of war and significant forced emigration,” – noted I. Kliuchkovska.
5Educators who came from various parts of the Netherlands shared insights about the current state of schools and the issues they face in organizing the educational process.
6“Constructive dialogue helped to highlight new challenges, particularly the integration of children with limited proficiency in the Ukrainian language, as well as Russian-speaking students into Ukrainian classes. We discussed the use of game elements in lessons, among other topics,” – reported MIOK.
The event participants agreed to organize seminars on the methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language using educational resources developed by MIOK, as well as seminars involving leading school psychologists and educators from Ukraine.
7MIOK expressed hope that this meeting will mark the beginning of a long-term educational project that will promote the preservation of Ukrainian identity for those who have chosen to build their future in the Netherlands.
MIOK thanked the Embassy of Ukraine in the Netherlands for their assistance in organizing the meeting, as well as the educators from the schools "Veselka," "Dzherelo," "Vulyk," "Oberih," "Dzvinochok," "Kryla," and "Mriya" for their registration and active participation.
8As a reminder, in November, an Educational Forum took place in Amsterdam, gathering Ukrainian teachers, volunteers, managers, and representatives of Ukrainian weekend schools in the Netherlands.
