In Buenos Aires, Ukraine's Unity Day was celebrated at the Shevchenko monument.

Representatives of the Ukrainian and Lithuanian communities, along with Argentine friends of Ukraine and the staff of the Embassy in Argentina, held an event at the Taras Shevchenko monument in Buenos Aires to commemorate the Day of Unity and the 106th anniversary of the signing of the Act of Unification between the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced on Facebook by the Embassy of Ukraine in Argentina.

“Flowers were laid at the monument to the Great Kobzar by the Ukrainian Central Representation in the Argentine Republic, and the national anthems of Ukraine and Argentina were performed by those present,” the post states.

Participants of the event honored the memory of Ukrainians who sacrificed their lives for the independence, freedom, and unity of Ukraine with a moment of silence.

Additionally, according to the report, attendees joined the global initiative “Chain of Unity,” “demonstrating the cohesion and solidarity that are essential for achieving victory and prosperity for Ukraine.”

It is worth noting that in the fall of 2024, thanks to the collaboration between the Embassy of Ukraine in Argentina and the Ukrainian Central Representation in Argentina with local authorities, a “Square of Ukraine” (Paseo Ucrania) was established in the February Third Park in Buenos Aires.
