This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
It is noted that €70 million are direct contributions, including the announced €10 million contribution from the Netherlands, while €87 million from Germany is in the form of SAP licenses.
The latest meeting of the IT coalition took place in Amsterdam. The last gathering of coalition member countries was in July. Since then, the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received new supplies from Canada, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Equipment and licenses were centrally procured through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, thanks to contributions from Denmark and Luxembourg.
According to Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko, cybersecurity is one of the key areas of work for the Ministry of Defense. Supplies within the IT coalition will strengthen this direction, as Russians continue to attack Ukraine's cyber infrastructure.
“These supplies will also help scale the projects of the Innovation Center and facilitate the further implementation of the SAP system in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Chernohorenko noted.
During the meeting, coalition participants discussed the implementation of the roadmap, procurement activities, and the needs of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in developing IT infrastructure.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Estonia, Tuuli Duneton, in addition to seeking funding until the end of 2024, the IT coalition has focused its attention on accelerating procurement and delivery to Ukraine.
“Our goal is to deliver as much equipment as possible to leverage the advantages that technology can provide on the battlefield,” Duneton emphasized.
The IT coalition, led by Estonia and Luxembourg, is one of eight capability coalitions within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. The coalition aims to support the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of IT, communications, and cybersecurity.
The coalition includes 14 partner countries and Ukraine. Finland and Spain joined the coalition in September. Several more countries are expected to join soon.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine will receive pickups and trucks worth €22 million from the Coalition of Capabilities for Demining.
