The United States is investigating a leak of highly classified intelligence data regarding Israel's plans for an attack on Iran in response to Tehran's strike earlier this month.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by CNN citing informed sources.

It is noted that documents dated October 15 and 16 began circulating on the Internet on Friday after being published on the Telegram channel "Middle East Spectator." The data is marked "Top Secret," indicating that access to this information is restricted to the U.S. and its allies in the Five Eyes alliance (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom).

The documents describe Israel's preparations for a strike on Iran. One of them discusses Israel's plans for the movement of munitions. It is also mentioned that the document was created by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) of the United States.

Another document claims that the source is the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). It contains information regarding training exercises of the Israeli Air Force involving air-to-surface missiles, which are believed to be part of Israel's preparations for a strike on Iran.

One of CNN's sources stated that the investigation is trying to determine who had access to the potential Pentagon document. It is emphasized that any such leak will automatically trigger a joint investigation by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Defense. The FBI declined to comment on the alleged incident.

One of the released documents also suggests that Israel possesses nuclear weapons – information that Jerusalem has previously refused to confirm. It states that the U.S. has seen no signs indicating that Israel plans to use nuclear weapons against Iran.

As reported by Ukrinform, on October 1, Iran launched a barrage of missiles at Israel in response to the killing of several leaders associated with Iranian-backed armed groups. According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, hypersonic "Fattah" missiles were used for the first time.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised a response from Iran for the massive missile strike.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated on October 9 that Israel's strike on Iran in retaliation for its attack last week would be "deadly, precise, and unexpected."
